Waco is a beautiful place to live, work and play, and there are bountiful opportunities to give back to a city that gives so much to its residents. There's no need to make volunteering a chore! In a city with diverse needs, there's guaranteed to be somewhere you can contribute that is inline with your personal skills and interests. Whatever you're passionate about, there is a local need that is waiting to be met by you.
If you love animals, get involved with Cameron Park Zoo's volunteering programs, or "adopt" an animal. Learn more about where Waco has been and be a part of preserving the city's history even as it continually grows and changes by joining with the Historic Waco Foundation. Contribute to the development of a strong community by getting involved with your local neighborhood association. If you're passionate about seeing children's lives enriched and transformed, invest in local children through Big Brothers Big Sisters. Serve the hurting by volunteering at the Children's Advocacy Center or Talitha Koum Institute. If your passion is seeing poverty diminished in Waco, Mission Waco needs someone like you! Sometimes just showing up and showing people that you care is enough - eat lunch at the Gospel Cafe or attend Church Under the Bridge where you can meet and mingle with your neighbors and hear their stories. Be a part of developing a thriving downtown community where people value each other and take pride in the city of Waco.
